Plug in at the 8th Annual Open Source & App Plug Fest. Browse some of the most successful open source projects and latest apps used in imaging informatics. Representatives from across open source and app communities will be on hand to help attendees understand and get started using powerful these powerful tools.

SIIM continues to value and support the resources that the open source and app communities provide to the field of imaging informatics. New to this year's Plug Fest – in addition to open source, developers and representatives who are changing the face medicine by creating apps used to increase productivity, quality, and patient care! The Plug Fest will provide an in-depth look at the projects and apps through descriptive posters that will be featured throughout the meeting.

Network with peers and browse some of the latest, most successful open source projects and mobile and web apps used in imaging informatics during the SIIM 2015 Science & Innovation Reception on Friday, May 29 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. Select projects and apps will also be on display daily during exhibit hall hours.

Objectives:
  1. Identify the advantages of open source and app software to the field of imaging informatics.
  2. Describe the uses of open source and app software in the field of imaging informatics.
  3. Provide an overview of the latest open source and app software.

New to the Plug Fest

SIIM invites app developers who have created free apps for the medical imaging informatics community to come and show off their product. *Requirement: Apps must be freely available. All application rules, registration, and regulations apply as they do to OS presenters.

Participation Information:

  • Participants should create a Poster - 4' X 8' poster for display during the meeting.
  • Participants should bring their own laptop with any necessary software.
  • In addition to the designated demo time, participants are encouraged to demo projects during exhibit hall times.
  • Non-exhibiting presenters are required to register for the SIIM Annual Meeting. Unfortunately, we cannot provide complimentary registration for Plug Fest Presenters. Exhibiting presenters may come in as exhibiting personnel.

Demonstration Times:

  • Presenters should plan to make themselves, or a representative, at least 1-hour per day during dedicated exhibit hall hours:
    • Thursday, May 28: 11am-1pm or 3pm-4pm
    • Friday, May 29: 11am-1pm or 3pm-4pm
    • Saturday, May 30: 11am-1pm
  • Presenters will be required to be available during the entire Scientific & Innovation Reception, at which the formal OS & App Plug Fest will be hosted on Friday, May 29 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm.
