SIIM Announces 2012 IHE Monitor Team
SIIM (as an IHE sponsoring organization) initiated a program in 2008 to take top PACS administrators in our field, train them in IHE, and send them to the IHE Connectathon as monitors. The Connectathon is an enormous plugfest that typically attracts over 100 different clinical IT systems from over 60 IT vendors. To date, the program has been a profound success, with our monitors helping the vendors test their integration capabilities.

The 2012 IHE Monitor Team will participate in three webinars to train on how to be a successful monitor at the January 9-13, 2012 IHE North America Connectathon. They join 26 other IIP experts/SIIM members as Connectathon monitors.
“Volunteering as an IHE Connectathon monitor was a great experience. It gave me real, practical insight into what it takes to implement the IHE profiles and achieve true integration and interoperability in healthcare IT. It provided me the opportunity to meet many interesting and committed people within the industry. For me, this was another way SIIM has positively affected my professional life.”
