Separating Artificial Intelligence Hype from Reality

Attendees are Peering Into the Future Through the Looking Glass of Artificial Intelligence during the SIIM 2016 Closing General Session. Distinguished presenter panelists will join Tanveer F. Syeda-Mahmood, PhD Tanveer F. Syeda-Mahmood, PhD, Chief Scientist, Medical Sieve Radiology Grand Challenge IBM Almaden Research Center and this year’s Dwyer Lecturer, Eliot L. Siegel, MD, FSIIM, Professor of Radiology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Chief, Imaging Services, VA Maryland Health Care System as they separate the hype from the reality that is key to unlocking the potential of artificial intelligence.

Taking Home Tactics for Capturing and Sharing Images

From web services to WIC approaches, IIPs are breaking into small groups to differentiate the popular methods for capturing images and the related information during the Strategies and Tactics for Capturing and Sharing Images SIIMposium. Then, coming back together to share their findings with colleagues!

Presented by the esteemed faculty from Oregon Health and Sciences University, attendees are discovering how clinical informatics is transforming health care during The OHSU Clinical Informatics Experience: A Showcase of Biomedical Informatics Research session. Attendees are also learning the ins and outs of Clinical Informatics Certification for Physicians & Non-Physicians during this morning’s roundtable.

Learning to Normalize Data

The culminating lab at SIIM 2016 is teaching imaging informatics professionals how to How To Clean Up and Analyze [Their] Own Data. They’re getting down and dirty as they gain hands-on practice using the everyday tools such as Open Refine and Microsoft Office.
