Leesburg, Virginia April 3, 2026 — The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) and the Digital Pathology Association (DPA) announced the SIIM-DPA Bridge Pass, an unprecedented collaborative effort via a Bridge Pass granting access to both SIIM26 Annual Meeting (June 10-12, Pittsburgh, PA) and Pathology Visions 2026 (October 16-18, San Diego, CA) through a single, streamlined payment process.

“The distance between digital pathology and the rest of enterprise imaging is much less than most people realize,” said Nabile Safdar, MD, MPH, Chair of SIIM. “Both communities are tackling remarkably similar challenges as members manage massive imaging datasets, integrating AI into clinical workflows, building scalable infrastructure, enabling remote collaboration, and strengthening cybersecurity. The Bridge Pass recognizes that these are not parallel journeys but converging paths.”

The partnership reflects a growing recognition within healthcare IT that siloed approaches to imaging informatics are giving way to integrated, enterprise-wide strategies. Digital pathology is increasingly being incorporated into broader enterprise imaging architectures, while radiology and imaging informatics professionals are being called upon to support multi-modality imaging ecosystems that include pathology.

“Pathology Visions has always been dedicated to uniting pioneers who are advancing patient care through digital innovation,” said Abigail Norris, CAE, Executive Vice President of DPA. “Our partnership with SIIM reflects a shared understanding that the future of diagnostic imaging—whether CT scans or whole slide images—relies on addressing common technical, operational, and clinical challenges. By bridging these communities, we’re creating a powerful opportunity for professionals to connect disciplines, share expertise, and lead the transition toward truly integrated diagnostics.”

The Bridge Pass addresses a practical reality: healthcare organizations are increasingly seeking professionals who understand imaging informatics holistically, not just within a single specialty, and is available to DPA members and SIIM members. Hospital IT departments, vendor organizations, academic medical centers, and consulting firms are all investing in cross-functional expertise.

SIIM26’s Pathology Roadmap guides attendees through enterprise imaging content and sessions applicable to pathology workflows. Topics include AI model validation, image interoperability standards, cybersecurity frameworks, and cloud-based imaging architectures. “We’ve designed this to be as seamless as possible,” said Cheryl Kreider Carey, MBA, CAE, SIIM CEO. “One payment, two conferences, double the expertise. It’s that straightforward.”

About the Digital Pathology Association (DPA): The DPA a global nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing digital pathology and facilitates awareness, education, and adoption of digital pathology and AI applications in healthcare and life sciences. Founded in 2009, DPA represents over 4,700 members including pathologists, scientists, technologists, and industry leaders committed to transforming patient care through digital innovation. About the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM): SIIM is the leading healthcare professional organization for those interested in the current and future use of informatics in medical imaging. The Society’s mission is to advance medical imaging informatics across the Enterprise through education, research, and innovation in a multi-disciplinary community. SIIM brings together clinicians, researchers, engineers, developers, IT imaging professionals, and industry partners, spanning specialties, including radiology, pathology, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, and more planned for the future.
