How does one capture four days of high-impact learning, three visionary plenaries, two engaged audiences, and a sold-out InformaticsTECH Expo? Two snapshots help me answer that question…

Watching thirty (30) SIIM volunteer leaders converge for a photo—one banging on the door to get in—was a special moment for me, perfectly capturing our collegial spirit. Each one’s unique brilliance and commitment shone through in your governance, presentations, and passion for SIIM’s mission at SIIM25. Your welcoming, inclusive energy was palpable, affirming new and returning attendees they belonged.

Also amazing was watching ten (10) staff professionals—plus one supporting from afar—take SIIM25 from concept to reality with near seamless execution. (Ask Andrea about Portland’s union labor someday.) From an operational perspective, we created touchpoints for attendees from their arrival at registration, to discussions with exhibitors, to connecting at the SIIM Booth — all promoting SIIM culture of belonging. Feedback about this standout team stems from an emotional maturity and empathy cultivated by our staff retreats, I believe.

Perhaps it’s my imagination—or the fact this was my 8th SIIM annual meeting—but hearing attendees and exhibitors alike share “SIIM is my favorite conference” seemingly had a multiplier effect this year. Did we reach new heights in imaging informatics? That is a question for you to answer—but the essence of brilliance and belonging was undeniable at SIIM25.
