This on-demand course aims to provide students with a basic understanding of the hardware and software components involved in healthcare IT information systems. Students will learn to identify major hardware components and peripherals, distinguish between different software layers and applications, and gain knowledge about various operating systems and database systems.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• Identify and describe the major hardware components and peripherals involved in healthcare IT information systems, including CPU, memory, disk technology, IP/MAC addresses, and peripheral interfaces.
• Distinguish between different software layers and applications in healthcare IT information systems, including understanding software architecture and the role of operating systems.
• Demonstrate the ability to perform basic hardware and software maintenance and upgrades, including troubleshooting and resolving common issues.
• Execute basic operating system commands and run utilities to manage and maintain healthcare IT information systems, including file management, user management, and system configuration.
• Perform simple queries using SQL to retrieve and manipulate data from healthcare databases, including understanding basic database architectures and the use of SQL commands.
