The PACS Certification (CPAS) Clinical Package is an enriching self-study program that caters to the clinical component of the PARCA CPAS exam. This comprehensive package integrates three self-study courses—Clinical Anatomy and Systems, Medical Imaging Technology, and Workflow and Digital Radiography—along with the PACS System Associate (AS) Study Guide, Clinical Component – Electronic Version. Aimed at bridging the gap between healthcare IT professionals and clinical expertise, this package empowers participants with the essential knowledge to excel in the dynamic field of healthcare technology.

Learning Objectives 

By the end of this course, students will be able to: 

  • Analyze and interpret clinical anatomy and systems to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals and contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration. 
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of medical imaging technology, including the principles and applications of various imaging modalities. 
  • Evaluate and optimize workflow processes in digital radiography environments, ensuring efficiency and quality in the delivery of healthcare services. 
  • Apply the principles outlined in the PACS System Associate (AS) Study Guide, Clinical Component – Electronic Version, to enhance clinical knowledge and proficiency in PACS-related tasks. 
  • Demonstrate practical skills in navigating and utilizing PACS systems in a clinical setting, fostering a seamless integration of clinical knowledge with healthcare IT practices. 

Format/Class Structure 

This package contains three self-paced courses, accessible completely online. You can expect to spend about 15 hours completing this course.

CE Credit

The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine has approved this activity for 15.0 hours of SIIM IIP Credits towards certification and re-certification by the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII).
