In this episode, hosts Jason and Mohannad sit down with Norman Young – a healthcare informatics innovator and open-source advocate whose career was shaped by his own early battle with cancer. After helping build eFilm – one of the earliest free medical image viewers – he founded ClearCanvas in 2005, delivering open-source PACS and RIS platforms globally and earning the American College of Radiology’s Global Humanitarian Award in 2021. Today, through his non-profit CareChorus, he creates privacy-first, locally stored software tools that empower patients and caregivers to seamlessly navigate and manage complex medical records.

This episode was recorded in conjunction with the Imaging Informatics Unplugged (https://www.youtube.com/@NagelsConsulting) podcast.
