Read Latest Findings in the Journal of Imaging Informatics for Medicine (JIIM) AI Collection

The SIIM AI and Research Committees have gathered together on a critical new collaboration focused on translating research innovation into sustainable clinical radiology practice. This latest research establishes foundation models as a versatile leap beyond traditional AI, moving from task-specific tools to integrated systems for radiological analysis. The review bridges the existing implementation gap by providing subspecialty-specific strategies and integration protocols informed by real-world implementation.

By analyzing data from 15 diverse healthcare systems, these committees offer a practical roadmap for moving large-scale systems into daily operations. This work moves beyond theoretical benefits to address essential technical requirements, such as PACS/RIS integration and performance benchmarks, ensuring that cutting-edge AI truly enhances the clinical workflow.
