Think you know a thing or two about open source software? Think again. This talk will cover little-known facts and concepts, from the prevalence of open source software (spoiler: it is everywhere and you use it a lot more often than you know) to the advantages of open source at multiple levels from the preservation of the environment to medical imaging advancement.

Objectives:

  • Understand what open source actually means and how almost all software used today incorporates open-source in one way or another
  • Shine a light on the tremendous support open source enjoys from grass-roots to multi-billion dollar software giants
  • Explore benefits of open source across domains from healthcare to everything else under the sun.
