Digital pathology is being broadly adopted and many labs currently are planning to go digital. In digital pathology a whole-slide imaging (WSI) scanner generates diagnostic quality images that can be used for primary diagnosis or (remote) second opinions, or as input for AI algorithms.

In this webinar, we will first focus on properties of typical digital pathology images. We’ll discuss typical image resolution, brightness, contrast, color space, etc. and how these influences perceived image quality and the way pathologists interact with images.

The second part of the webinar makes the link to displays for digital pathology. Based on the discussed properties of digital pathology images, we examine what makes a display system fit for use in digital pathology.

Objectives

  • Understanding relevant properties of digital pathology images
  • Understanding influence of these image properties on perceived quality and user interaction
  • Making the link to display specifications and what makes a display fit for use
