The DICOM Introduction Package is a comprehensive self-paced learning program crafted to provide individuals with a foundational understanding of the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard. This package consists of two focused self-paced courses: DICOM Introduction, Data Formats, and Protocol; and DICOM Services, Commands, and Conformance. Aimed at building and solidifying foundational knowledge in DICOM, this package equips participants with essential concepts and skills to navigate the intricacies of medical imaging informatics.

By the end of this course, students will be able to: 

  • Analyze and interpret the fundamental concepts of DICOM, including data formats, protocol, services, commands, and conformance requirements. 
  • Develop proficiency in comprehending DICOM data sets and management, providing a solid foundation for effective handling of medical imaging data. 
  • Acquire a deep understanding of DICOM services, commands, and conformance, ensuring compliance with industry standards in medical imaging informatics.

This package contains two self-paced courses, accessible completely online. You can expect to spend about 8 hours completing this course.
