Scientist Clinician.

What do you love most about imaging informatics?

Creative application of technology to solve important problems. IT is sometimes viewed as not creative, and some parts aren’t, but when you can create new solutions, it is really powerful.

If you could choose anyone as a mentor, who would you choose?

Warren Buffet. He is obviously a great thinker but is slow to speak and seems to let people (e.g., Bill Gates) come to their decision and provides guidance when asked.

What one thing – either industry-related or not – you learned in the last month?
Prompt engineering for generating better computer programs.

What’s the last book you read or TV series you binged?
Jack Ryan, love the Tom Clancy novels.

Do you have a significant SIIM volunteer story?
One of the important efforts of SIIM was SWIM–SIIM Workflow in Medicine. While it hasn’t caught on the way we expected or hoped, it was a good template for thinking about how imaging departments get work done, and then codifying it.
