What is your current imaging informaticist role?
I currently work as a Principal Clinical Systems Analyst at Stanford Health Care. I am also the Vice-Chair of the ABII Board of Trustees, and Chair of the SIIM Education Committee.
What is your SIIM Persona?
Imaging IT
What do you love most about imaging informatics?
Literally every day presents new challenges to be solved, so we are constantly learning and evolving. It is very dynamic!
If you could choose anyone as a mentor, who would you choose?
Michelle Obama, I greatly admire her.
What one thing, either industry-related or not, did you learn in the last month?
I have been learning a lot about the specifics of cloud imaging deployment processes.
How do you define success?
In work, I define success by the happiness of my customers or end users. In “real” life, I define success by my own level of happiness and that of the people I love.
What’s the last book you read or TV series you binged?
I wish I had a thought provoking book to recommend here, but honestly I read a lot of fiction to just take my mind off reality. The last series I binge watched though was The Sandman – very cool!
People love the networking at SIIM. Do you have a networking story?
SIIM has been a part of my professional life for 15 years. Without a doubt, I would not be where I am in my career without the people I’ve met and learned from through volunteering and networking.
