This practice parameter in mammography image quality is a document designed to assist practitioners in providing appropriate radiologic care for patients. The document’s information is based on digital mammography literature and expert experience from the Image Quality Collaborative Workgroup. Additionally, this practice parameter includes input from industry, radiologists, the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Initiative, and other interested parties in an attempt to represent the consensus of the broader community.

This practice parameter was revised collaboratively by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), and the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM).
