In today’s increasingly digital healthcare environment, ransomware attacks have become an ever-present threat. This webinar will provide an in-depth exploration of the lifecycle of a ransomware attack, featuring insights from frontline experts who have faced these challenges head-on. Rather than focusing solely on the preparation and aftermath, this session will emphasize the critical actions and decisions made during an attack, with the aim of empowering attendees with practical knowledge and confidence. Attendees will hear from a diverse panel of healthcare professionals, including physicians, technologists, Incident Information Processors (IIPs), and cybersecurity experts, all sharing their experiences and strategies for mitigating the impact of ransomware in real-time. By the end of this session, participants will be better prepared to manage, respond to, and recover from ransomware attacks in their own organizations.

Objectives

  • Identify the three key phases of a ransomware Attack: Gain insights into the critical moments before, during, and after a ransomware attack, and learn how different roles within a healthcare organization must respond.
  • Develop practical strategies for real-time mitigation: Discover the actions that can be taken during an ongoing ransomware attack to limit damage, maintain patient safety, and ensure continuity of care
  • Analyze lessons from real-life ransomware incidents: Hear firsthand accounts from professionals who have lived through ransomware attacks, and learn what worked, what didn’t, and what they wish they had known beforehand
  • Enhance preparedness through cross-disciplinary collaboration: Understand the importance of communication and coordination across different roles in healthcare during a ransomware crisis.
