There are specific DICOM standards, in the form of RT DICOM objects, to address the specific needs for Radiation Therapy.

RT Beams Treatment Record, RT Brachy Treatment Record, and RT Treatment Summary Record: Contains data obtained from actual radiotherapy treatments. These objects are the historical record of treatment and are linked with the other “planning” objects to form a complete picture of the treatment. Note that a new record is generated after each individual treatment session to include up-to-date information.
