Analysis of genetic information, referred to as genomics or precision medicine, is increasingly used in healthcare to better diagnose and treat patients. Sectra has launched a new, cloud-based diagnostic IT module for genomics, within molecular pathology, in collaboration with Penn Medicine. This integrated end-to-end solution is a significant and crucial leap forward for integrated diagnostics by increasing quality and efficiency within molecular pathology while reducing turnaround times.

Join Salvatore Priore, MD, PhD of Penn Medicine, and Fredrik Lysholm, PhD of Sectra, as they discuss the process and challenges of implementing a genomics solution.

Objectives

  • Explain the fundamentals of genomics and why it is important for patient treatment.
  • Describe the IT component and how it integrates with existing radiology and pathology systems.
  • Discuss the process and challenges of implementing a genomics solution.
  • Outline the short-term and long-term patient benefits Penn Medicine is hoping to realize.
