The convergence of radiology and pathology through enterprise PACS is a critical step toward integrated diagnostics. As digital pathology adoption accelerates, healthcare organizations can apply lessons learned from radiology’s PACS journey to reduce fragmented workflows, improve interoperability, and strengthen collaboration across diagnostic teams. This webinar will explore how technical decisions, standards such as DICOM for whole slide imaging, governance, and change management can support a unified, patient-centered imaging platform.

Attendees will learn how integrating radiology images and pathology slides can improve multidisciplinary collaboration, enhance tumor board discussions, and strengthen diagnostic confidence. The session will highlight practical strategies for aligning workflows, reducing duplication, and accelerating deployment while establishing a scalable foundation for AI, multimodal analytics, and precision medicine.

Objectives

  • Describe how enterprise PACS can accelerate deployment of digital pathology by applying lessons learned from radiology’s earlier adoption.
  • Identify strategies to avoid common pitfalls from radiology PACS implementation when designing integrated pathology-radiology workflows.
  • Explain how a unified enterprise PACS improves collaboration, efficiency, and readiness for future innovations such as AI and precision medicine.
