Have you ever migrated data from one PACS to another? Ever had to plan a large data migration? DICOM migrations are complex and hard to manage. PACS Teams face challenges to minimize the cost to migrate images, to reduce the time needed to migrate, and to ensure all the data has been migrated. These challenges will intensify as organizations merge and combine forces to improve patient care and minimize operational costs.

Enter into the next level of data migration. Migrating even the largest archives has now been made easy! DICOM working group 33 has authored DICOM Supplement 223 to facilitate large scale migrations. The development of Repository Query Sop Class and generating the Inventory IOD will revolutionize medical imaging migrations.

Objectives

  • Learn about medical imaging migration challenges
  • Leverage Repository Query Sop Class
  • Requesting an Inventory IOD
  • Identifying internal and external use cases
  • Getting in the data flow: Requesting adoption from Vendors
