This webinar aims to continue the conversation from SIIM 25 about the rapidly evolving landscape of healthcare technology, noting that ensuring the security of medical devices within medical imaging has become paramount. This webinar will use participant polling to continue to explore the critical challenges and cutting-edge solutions for safeguarding hardware and software in medical devices, focusing on the unique challenges of imaging informatics.

Objectives

  • Identify key vulnerabilities in medical imaging devices and understand the implications of these security gaps.
  • Demonstrate specific techniques and protocols such as up-to-date firmware maintenance, secure DICOM routing, and the effective use of external firewalls.
  • Explain the integration of advanced technologies like AI and blockchain to enhance the security and reliability of medical imaging systems.

The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine has approved this activity for 1.0 hours of SIIM IIP Credits towards certification and re-certification by the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII).
