VNAs are no longer a trend, but mainstream. They offer significant benefits for enterprise image management. However, optimal integration between PACS and VNAs has often proven elusive. This presentation will attempt to describe the challenges and opportunities that this integration may involve.
Objectives:
- Understand the differences between traditional PACS archival models and Vendor Neutral Archives (VNAs).
- Understand the respective functional requirements of these two models, how they might differ, how they might complement, and how they might potentially conflict.
- Understand the need to set clear respective requirements in place as part of VNA planning, with clear definitions of the respective roles and responsibilities your institution will expect for these systems.
