What is clinical decision support in radiology, and how do radiologists interact with these systems?

Radiology domain-specific clinical decision support systems (CDSS) are poorly integrated into workflow. Deliberate and sustained effort using inter-disciplinary knowledge from human-centered computing, psychology, cognitive sciences, and medicine is required to build CDSS for radiologists. This talk discusses the current state of decision support tools used by radiology staff and presents a research study building the theory of radiologist-CDSS interaction using sequential explanatory study design – quantitative survey followed by qualitative interview.
