The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) convened its Annual Meeting at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. The Society’s mission focuses on advancing the imaging informatics field by fostering education, research, and innovation.
The SIIM Annual Meeting is where the enterprise imaging community comes together to recognize the achievements of its diverse membership. The following awards and prizes were presented during this year’s Annual Meeting.
College of SIIM Fellows – New Inductees

These exceptional individuals were recognized for their outstanding achievements and talents on May 21. Their induction showcases the highest standards of excellence within SIIM.
The Samuel J. Dwyer Lectureship
The 2025 Dwyer Lecture has been awarded to Don K. Dennison, CIIP, FSIIM, President of Don K. Dennison Solutions Inc., for his presentation titled “Drivers Needed: How Imaging Informaticists Will Get Where We Need To Be.”
The Annual Dwyer Lecture honors the legacy of Samuel J. Dwyer III, PhD—a humble and prolific pioneer of digital medical imaging—and features a SIIM Fellow presenting a particularly relevant and thought-provoking topic in the field of imaging informatics.
Honorary Awards
Individual achievements were recognized in the field of medical imaging informatics through the following Honorary Awards:
The Gold Medal of the Society Award
The highest award the Society bestows. It is awarded annually in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in research or implementation of imaging informatics applications.
Presented to Elizabeth Krupinski, PhD, FSIIM, Emory University.
The Dr. Joe Gitlin Award
Awarded annually in recognition of outstanding lifetime contributions to the field of imaging informatics through the development of innovative, high-impact solutions.
Presented to Paul Nagy, PhD, CIIP, FSIIM, Johns Hopkins Medicine Technology Innovation Center.
The Dr. Ruth Dayhoff Award for the Advancement of Women in Medical Imaging Informatics
Awarded annually in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of imaging informatics by a woman or presented to a woman dedicated to the advancement and promotion of women in imaging informatics.
Presented to Nina Kottler, MD, MS, FSIIM, Radiology Partners.
The Imaging Informatics Innovator Award
Presented annually for extraordinary achievements in informatics technology development that show strong promise or potential impact in Imaging or medicine.
Presented to Khan Siddiqui, MD, HOPPR (Industry), and Ronnie Sebro, MD, PhD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Academic).
The Early Career Achievement Award
Presented in recognition of significant and innovative technical contributions in imaging informatics to someone whose highest earned degree has been awarded within 10 years of the date of nomination.
Presented to Josh Becker-Dober, Visage Imaging (Industry) and Ali Tejani, MD, UT Southwestern Medical Center (Academic).
The Educator Award
Given annually in recognition of outstanding contributions to imaging informatics education by a SIIM instructor or educator in the field.
Presented to Nikki Fennell, CIIP, Stanford Health Care.
Scientific Awards

The Roger A. Bauman, MD Award
Awarded for the best student paper and named to honor Dr. Bauman’s distinguished career in radiological informatics research and practice and his status as Founding Editor of Journal of Digital Imaging, now the Journal of Imaging Informatics in Medicine.

Awarded to new investigators with an area of study in imaging informatics who either are currently in a full-time training program or have completed their training program within 2 years of the SIIM Annual Meeting.
